Clark Park market report, 21 June
Saturday, June 21, 2008
I went a little crazy at the farmers’ market this morning. I’d intended to not buy much, since it’s been a slow couple of weeks for cooking, but then I saw all the fruit and lost it. The black raspberries are from the northernmost stand, the cherries and strawberries are from Keystone Farm, and the blueberries are from Eden Garden. I also picked up some snap peas from Keystone and a cucumber, a couple of zucchini, some mixed-color carrots, and some lemon basil from Urban Girls.
I was there this morning, too, to pick up my share from Landisdale. And I also bought some of those gorgeous yellow cherries (from Fahnestock, I think?)!
In addition, I grabbed some dried limas and dried pears from Margerums, carrots from Urban Girls, ground beef and eggs from Keystone Farm, and a chicken from Pennypack.

We went totally crazy as well - 3 quarts of strawberries, 5# of tomato seconds, about 3# of peach seconds, zucchini, arugula, onions, cheese, and more plants.
